Refuge Leaders

Bob and Laurie Estochen are the parents to the Refuge Community. Bob oversees the Refuge Worship Team, shares message duty on Sunday Nights, and leads a prayer group. Laurie helps organize the weekly dinners and the Snow Camp Ham dinner. She also leads a Refuge small group for girls as well as a weekly prayer group at Refuge. Don’t let their youthful expressions fool you.  They were working in youth ministry for 10 years by the time most of the Senior High Refuge kids were born.

Jim and Sherry Reiss lead the crazy Jr. High Refuge Group with lessons, games and MORE!!! These folks are super fun, and have a real heart for the kids. 

Mike Sicienski helps lead a prayer group, shares the Refuge Message chores, and loves to play games. He also hosts a College Bible study in his home, and has taught Senior High Sunday School for a number of years.  He has a very special tie to Circle C Ranch, having met his wife, Shannon there.   

Jeff Kelley is new to the staff this year.  He is working toward his ordination as a pastor in the Reformed Church, and hopes to complete it by mid 2009.  Jeff is shares the Refuge Message duty with Mike and Bob, and does a ton of stuff behind the scenes during the week, organizing the details of upcoming events and lots of other youth stuff.  In his high school years (at Marion) Jeff attended our youth group (before it was Refuge), and has an interesting perspective on how youth ministry has evolved over time.

 

Also new to the team this year is Hillary Bumpus.  Talk about energy!  Hillary attends Living Word AG Church, and is going to school at MCC.  Hillary leads the Refuge Drama team and has a great passion for all types of drama.  Additionally, Hillary has reinstituted a Refuge favorite from several years ago – Room Raiders Annoucements.   Watch out – You could be NEXT!
